Photo Transfer Fabric Collage –Telling Family Stories in Cloth
with
Corinne Joy Brown

Preserve a copy of a favorite photo of someone you love in a brand new way: add the colors and textures that bring them to life, embellished with the jewelry or memorabilia they might have worn or owned.
Here is a great way to recycle found objects and household miscellany. Found objects take on new meaning when connected to a time and place in an individual’s life—buttons, pins, corsages, barrettes, and more. Even scraps of old letters or sheet music.
Why keep treasured photos in an album? Find new ways to connect to the past by creating an art form you can hang on the wall and enjoy seeing every day. Finish your wall hanging with a favorite saying or treasured quote.

A Simple Toe Up Sock Recipe
with Loretta Banta
If you can knit a narrow tube, on double point needles, or using 2 circulars or the magic loop, you can knit socks.  And knitting them toe-up has some advantages: you can try them on as you make them, to check the fit, and you can use up all your yarn.  The simple recipe can be used for socks of any size and in any weight of yarn, and can be made fancier by adding patterning stitches.

We'll make a small sampler sock to learn the recipe, including an easy cast on method, a wedge toe, Cat Bordhi's brilliant Sweet Tomato heel and a couple options for a stretchy bind off.   Then you can start your socks in class!
