BRAS, BANGLES & BUNIONS:
February 4th - 27th, 2011

This is a collaborative project uniting Colorado Women's Caucus for Art and the TACtile Textile Arts Center. The exhibition will include 2-D and 3-D artwork that incorporates anything with a literal or implied connection to the title. The combined artistic effort explores the concept of 'The Price of Fashion'.

The artist's expression of this concept may include, but is not limited to the 'price tag' of couture fashion, knock offs, 'child labor' in the manufacturing of cheap clothing, the concept of planned obsolescence in regard to what is "hot" and what is not, 'exploration of fashionable body manipulation and/or mutilation, 'cosmetic surgery', 'adornment/tattoos/piercing', and historic corseting. 

A Best of Show and People's Choice Award will be presented and the winners will have their images posted on the WCA Colorado Facebook page and the WCA Colorado website.

Call for Entries/Show Rules

1. Eligibilty: Open to all Colorado Artisits

2. Theme: 2-D and 3-D artwork that incorporates anything with a literal or implied connection to "BRAS, BANGLE, and BUNIONS."

3. Show dates: February 4th-27th, 2011

4. Location: HABITAT GALLERY 828 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204

5. Media: Any wall-hung or pedestal fine art medium

6. Entries: Up to 3 original works in digital format on a CD, 72 dpi jpg with maximum dimensions of 1024 x 768 ot 768 x 1024 pixels

7. Fee: $34 for up to 3 entries. Make checks payable to WCA/CO. If you join WCA/CO for 460, you can enter 3 pieces for $10.

8. Specifications: Wall works must be dry, framed or have wrapped edges with staples visible only on the back. Works must be ready for hanging with screw eyes and wire-- no saw-tooth or clip hangers. Label with Artisit's name, phone number, and title of work on back or bottom, if sclpture WEIGHT: 25 lbs maximum, SIZE: 236 x 36" maximum

9.Sales: No commission will be taken on sales

10. Insurance: No insurance is provided by WCA/CO; WCA/CO is not liable for loss or damage during shipping. Include check/cas/prepaid label for return shipping.
