Hostess Committee:

Gallery Shop Volunteer
The Gallery Shop displays and sells hand crafted items featuring local and international fiber artists. TACtile is seeking volunteers to staff the Gallery Store. Duties include greeting, explaining TACtile Textile Arts programs, answering questions and providing retail service using point of sale software. The responsible volunteer will open and close the shop, answer the telephone and take messages. Come be a part of inspiring growth, visibility, and creative excellence in textile arts while working in a light filled space with creative people who weave, sew, knit, design and so much more. Free parking, use of kitchen and opportunity to bring creative projects to work on during slow times. In addition volunteers for exciting events such as Gallery Openings and Fashion Shows get in for free.

Gallery Committee:

Gallery Committee volunteers conceive and develop the themes for exhibits. Volunteers plan exhibits, call for entries and install the exhibits. Producing the shows involves contacting the artists, checking in the art works, dismantling the exhibit and returning the art work.

Facility Coordinator:

Help maintain integrity of the gallery, classroom, meeting and service areas by:
Supervising cleanup and routine upkeep monthly.
Handling minor repairs.
Managing classroom/meeting area floor plans and display areas.
Working together with guild liaisons and event coordinators for physical needs of space and equipment.

Marketing Committee:

Advise marketing design and copy writing.
Help with the marketing and publicity for TACtile gallery shows, events, classes and open houses.
Brainstorm event names and concepts.
Write press releases.
Set up e-newsletters with design and copy.
Oversee deadlines for smooth coordination between other committees.
Aid in distribution of postcards, fliers and posters.

The marketing committee works with all other committees, which provides great experience for the volunteer!

Education Committee:

Help brainstorm class topics for TACtile.
Be on the lookout for great teachers and speakers.
Systemize registration procedures and teacher coordination.
Work together with marketing for publicity. 
Contact potential teachers to coordinate 3 annual sessions.
Set up classrooms for classes as needed.
Brainstorm and coordinate ways to bring fiber arts to all generations.  Below are the volunteer positions we are looking to fill on the education committee.
